Stages of Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that affects the mesothelium tissue. In this type of disease the mesothelium cells become abnormal and divide uncontrollably. They will also damage the nearby tissues and organs. It is found that mesothelioma originate in the pleura or peritoneum and spread uncontrollably to other parts of the body. The symptoms of mesothelioma cancer appears only after 30 to 50 years. Thus the symptoms appear on the acute stage making the treatment really hard!
It has been reported that 70 to 80% of Mestothelioma have a history of asbestos exposure. The diagnosis of this disease is carried out in many tests including CT scans, MRI’s, and others. Knowing the stages of this cancer is very important.
