New York - the second favourite city of celebrities

Los Angeles is THE city of the stars and most probably will always be, however, the second city where you find celebrities around every corner is New York City. Apart from attracting a lot of financial professionals by being the financial heart of the USA more and more famous people from the entertainment industry are starting to settle down in New York. Others also travel between Los Angeles and New York and have houses or apartments in both cities.
In Beverly Hills you can get a map of the stars homes in every corner shop, but now New York has a “Movie Star’s Home” map too, published by Larry Horwitz. On the maps the homes of celebrities are marked with a star, so you can drive around the cities and admire their exclusive houses and appartments. But who are the celebrities that you might run into while you are in New York?
Being a financial center New York is full of important political people. Among the most famous is Rudy Giuliani, New York’s former mayor, who came to world fame during the 9/11 catastrophe.
But of course there are stars from the entertainment industry there, too. Brook Shields, Henry Kissinger, Edie Falco, Conan O’Brien or Donald Trump enjoy the New York flair as well as O. J. Simpson or Howard Stern. Another Hollywood legend who decided to settle down on the opposite coast is Dusting Hoffman.
But why do so many celebrities live in New York, so far away from the centre of entertainment and movie industry in California? The big apple simply is a beautiful city that has a lot to offer and many stars also enjoy the attitude of New Yorkers towards stars. In Los Angeles it is all about becoming rich and famous and life is much crazier and more superficial than in New York.
