All you will be able to do is have 1 bar repeating all the time! Not good if you want to get creative!

So make sure that you get at least 32 bars as a minimum with the beat maker that you pick.

That way you can be sure that you will be able to make a proper tune. (Try and make a progressive house tune with 1 bar!)

3. Lastly when you start getting to grips with making your own music you may want more from your beat maker and a brilliant way to do this is to check that you can parse and add your own sounds.

This will make your beats sound unique and is an awesome feature to have to make sure that your tunes never start sounding stale!

Why do we enjoy seeing Hollywood stars and personalities of pop culture dress in elaborate costumes and dance?

With so many shows on television anymore, it is sometimes amazing how some of the simplest shows can actually capture the imagination and attention of the viewing audience. In order to actually enjoy the show it is imperative that you realize that the winners of the show do not receive money. They do not receive a dancing contract like the singers do on American Idol. They receive a singing contract. You need to understand the dancing competitors are not receiving anything more than a title, and a cute little trophy that really does not mean that much to them. Of course, they are paid for being on the show while they compete, but in terms of Hollywood, it is not enough pay to make the stars stick around for a long time.

So why do they do it?

The main reason is nothing more than purely competitive natures. Being in the competition simply means that each star is matched with a professional dancer and must dance their hearts out each week to stay in the game. Being removed early is a disaster and could easily result in the star looking foolish against their peers. This creates a desire for the stars to perform at their best in order to avoid getting kick out.

Monetarily is doesn’t compare with getting to wear a Hogwarts School Uniform or elaborate witches attire in a Harry Potter blockbuster, but it fulfills an ego need for the competing stars and a need for entertainment for the viewing public.

Voted by Entertainment Weekly as the 5th scariest feature of all time, the original Halloween film has truly achieve cult status among horror fans. But like most movies made from that era, no one involved in the making of the Halloween film had any idea it would still resonate so strong thirty years later.

The original script of the Halloween film was called “The Babysitter Murders” but during the development process one of the producers discovered there was never a movie given the title Halloween. In that original script the character of Michael Meyers was referred to as “the Shape” because you never saw his face. The script was rewritten to take place the single day and night of Halloween. It was filmed over the course of twenty days on a budget of $320,000 and went on to become one of the highest grossing independent features of all time.

The story of the original Halloween film takes place in Illinois but was actually shot in Pasadena, California. The art department had to spread around painted leaves to make it look like fall as opposed to the typical sunny California spring when the Halloween film as actually made. The timing of the shoot also caused problems for the art department when they went looking for ripe pumpkins in the spring.

In the Halloween film, the role of Dr. Loomis was played by venerable character actor Donald Pleasance. He was paid $20,000 for his work. As for the role of Michael’s sister Laurie, this was Jamie Lee Curtis’ first film. Director John Carpenter considered casting her as the ultimate a tribute to one of his cinematic heroes, the legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock. It was Hitchcock who cast Jamie’s mother Janet Leigh as the ill-fated heroine in Psycho. For the Halloween film, Jamie Lee actually had to provide all her own wardrobe which she bought at a nearby J.C. Penny for less then a hundred dollars. All of the girls in the movie were supposed to be teenagers but only Jamie Lee was actually in her teens.

The Halloween film proved so successful that is spawned several sequels. Recently, filmmaker Rob Zombie rebooted the franchise with a new version and sequel to the Halloween film.

As for Michael Meyers famous mask, the filmmakers didn’t have enough money in the budget to create a special mask. Instead, they bought a cheap “Captain Kirk” mask, painted it white and teased out the hair. Instant horror legend!

These are not the most popular 80’s arcade games, as determined by scientific polling. They’re not the biggest money-making games of the decade, either. But they are my personal favorites, determined entirely subjectively through sheer force of opinion, tinged with some sweet, rose-colored nostalgia. With that said, here they are: the top five arcade games of the 1980’s, in no particular order. Feel free to disagree, but know that you’re wrong.

First off is, of course, Pac Man. A cliché perhaps, in some people’s minds, but I prefer to think of him as an icon. Either way, Pac Man is unquestionably the king of 80’s arcade games. To this day I admire the charming simplicity of this 80’s arcade legend. Move him through the puzzle. Eat the dots. Avoid the ghosts. Eat the super pellets. Eat the ghosts. Run away again. There’s something very elegant about this classic 80’s video game.

The next on my list of the best 80’s arcade games has to be Centipede. Again, a simple concept – and like Pac Man, it’s a game format that we haven’t seen repeated in the intervening years. Unlike most 80’s arcade games, Centipede had no joystick. Instead, it had a strange rolling ball, along with a primal sense of impending doom as the centipede crept down the screen to kill you.

There are so many fun and memorable 80’s arcade games, that it does become difficult to narrow them down to a few treasured favorites. One game that absolutely must be included on the list is Donkey Kong. Donkey Kong is a classic among 80’s arcade games for so many reasons. Without DK, we’d never have Mario, for one thing. The sound effects of the original Donkey Kong game still echo in my head from time to time, reminding me of the whole 80’s arcade experience.

Another great arcade game of the 80’s was the all-time classic, Tron. I have to admit that I wouldn’t care at all about the game Tron if it hadn’t been for the movie. In fact, I believe that Tron the game was actually based on Tron the movie, and not the other way around. Either way, it’s the coolest of 80’s movies and definitely one of my top five 80’s arcade games.

Now, no list of great 80’s arcade games would be complete without a mention of Tetris. Yes, Tetris came around in the later part of the decade, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be counted on this list. In my opinion, Tetris is not only the greatest of all 80’s arcade games; it is quite possibly the best video game of all time. It is totally original, totally addictive, and inexplicably gratifying to play. I would take Tetris over any other arcade or video game any day.

Personally, I’ve seen discounts ranging from 15% for the current generation Apple iPod Touch to 40% for the current Zune. Those are some pretty good deals, especially if cash is tight, so it really could pay off for you to consider refurbished MP3 players the next time you’re in the market for a device.

There’s no question that being able to carry around your entire music collection on a single device that easily slips into your pocket is a convenience worth paying good money for. But that doesn’t mean we should ignore common sense and just part with the full retail price each and every time. Just as we buy used cars because they’re often a much better deal than new, we can do the same with refurbished MP3 players.

Some gamers are repelled by the idea of playing used video games. Yuck, they were already owned, touched and played by someone else. Which is true, but they’re also cheaper. But if you insist on paying top dollar for all of your video game merchandise, it’s understandable.

Video games are expensive, so why not give yourself a break? The cheapness of used video games is their selling point. If you’re stingy enough to pass over new video games but ethical enough not to hack or download them, then used video games are the way to go. True, you run the risk of some scratches on the disc or a missing instruction manual. The scratches are a problem but most games teach you how to play in the beginning, so missing the manual isn’t such a biggie unless you were really looking forward to the pictures inside. Anyway, many places that buy used video games and sell them will make sure that the games are in good working order before putting them up for sale. Lots of times they’re even almost like new with the instruction manual and everything. And if it looks like a video game in good condition and plays like a video game in good condition, who’s to say that it’s not a used video game that’ll suffice?

But some words of caution about those places—many of them will rip you off, especially when it comes to selling your old games to them. They’ll buy your games for little and then sell them for way more. This is more of an annoying practice to sellers than buyers but still, you can buy used video games for cheaper elsewhere. Look online—you can bid for games on eBay or find people on craigslist who might give you a more reasonable price.

Of course, getting the best deal takes some work and undoubtedly that turns off a lot of people, who then end up buying a new game at full price. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with that, because it’ll be in brand spanking new condition with close to 0 percent risk of anything going wrong. Elsewhere you run the risk of used video games in not so great condition or shady characters trying to scam you. But really, any video game purchasing scenario will have its advantages and disadvantages, so the choice is yours of what kind of video game buyer you’ll be.

Can you really celebrate Halloween without watching at least one scary Halloween movie? Although the debate continues as to which of the following Halloween movies might be the scariest there is no doubt that watching any one of these flicks on a dark and dreary night makes for a perfect Halloween.

THE EXORCIST

Released in 1973, this fright fest about a 12 year old girl possessed by the devil shot to the top of the box office charts. Folks lined up around the block to see Linda Blair spew pea soup and cuss like a drunken sailor. Her head spinning is still one of the most iconic images ever captured on film.

POLTERGEIST

Imagine that our television sets could be the gateway to another dimension. That was one of the scary plot points in this 1982 Halloween movie classic. The lesson learned: whatever you do, don’t build your house on top of an old graveyard.

THE SHINING

Speaking of iconic images, who can ever forget Jack Nicholson’s menacing “Heeeere’s Johnny?” This Halloween movie directed by legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick is a must see for anyone who truly wants to be scared silly.

ALIEN

Although not what you would consider a traditional Halloween movie, ALIEN has all the perquisites for a good old fashioned scare: folks trapped in isolation being stalked be a creepy monster and a gory body count. Just because it all happens in space doesn’t mean you can’t scream.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD

There have certainly been hundreds of zombie movies but the standard by which they are all judged is with this 1968 black and white masterpiece directed by George Romero. Made on a shoe string budget with “body parts” donated by a local butcher this is one Halloween movie that is perfect to play in the background of any Halloween party.

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS

If you haven’t seen this movie in a while, it’s time to watch it again. The film earned the five top Oscars including Best Picture and Best Actor for Anthony Hopkins creepy turn as serial killer Hannibal Lector. Imagine having him show up at your house for trick or trick!

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW

What “It’s A Wonderful Life” is to Christmas movies, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is to Halloween movies. It’s the kind of film that should be watched once a year but best with a crowd who can yell back at the screen. This is one film where audience participation is encouraged. Country music is certainly one of the most popular genres there is. Part of the appeal comes from the true-to-life lyrics that you often hear in a country song. There’s no doubt that lyrics are huge part of a song, excluding instrumentals. They’re the script of the song, they’re the words that get stuck in your head, and they’re the message that the song conveys. The quality of the lyrics of songs can vary. Some lyrics are the product of musicians spending hours putting the right words together, and other lyrics sound like they popped out of a random word generator. The worst is when lyrics are trying to be deep but they come out corny or trying to rhyme too hard. At least nonsensical lyrics don’t claim to be anything they’re not.

It’s debatable how important the lyrics of songs really are. It seems like songs get popular more because of their catchy tunes than what they’re trying (or not trying) to say. Sometimes you’ll find yourself singing a song to yourself and then suddenly realize that you were singing words about death and murder put to a happy tune, or rapping misogynistically. Then you’ll stop yourself, and then find yourself singing it again later when it comes back into your head. Or with other songs you’ll realize that the words you’re singing don’t make any sense at all, you’ll chuckle, and then you’ll continue singing.

But sometimes there really are honestly meaningful lyrics out there. What is it that makes them so meaningful? What does it take for the lyrics of songs to mean something to people? Maybe they’re lyrics that say the same things we all know, but say them in a new way. Good lyrics can make people easily identify with what they’re saying. They say it in a way that resonates with you. Maybe the lyrics of songs are kind of like poetry. Poetry can express emotions universally without being too explicit about them.
