One thing that almost everyone has on their wedding day, no matter how big or how small their celebration may be, is music. Music for wedding day is traditional in most areas of the world, though what you want to do with your music on your big day is entirely up to you. Most brides walk down the aisle to music, but you don’t have to do that if you don’t want to. Some use traditional wedding songs, and some choose to have something else entirely. It’s your day, so do what feels right to you.

You know your personality, so choose your music for wedding celebrations accordingly. You and your spouse should agree on what you want to do for music, as it fits with what you want to do with your wedding day in general. Some find that they want to go with something different for the walk down the aisle, only to find that they are more traditional than they thought they were, and they end up using the traditional wedding march. Remember, while listening to alternatives, to listen to the tried and true just to see how it feels. You may surprise yourself with what you choose.

Music for wedding celebrations is not just about the walk up and down the aisle. It is also about the rest of the ceremony. Some choose to have the ceremony itself music free, and that is okay. Others choose to have a song played somewhere in the ceremony, but remember that this can be awkward. Instead of using a taped song, see if you can find someone to sing it live during your ceremony. This is much more moving and means so much more to both you and your guests. Not everyone knows someone who can or even will do this, but if you can find someone, this is a great touch.

You may choose to have music playing for your guests both before and after the ceremony. This can be a nice way to pass the time while your guests greet each other and wait for the ceremony to start. This also helps people keep their voices down, as it is a constant reminder that something special is about to happen. This type of music for wedding ceremonies is often mellow and classical in sound, and helps everyone (including the bride) to relax. This can be done on organ, piano, or can be played from prerecorded selections through a sound system. Many churches and other ceremony locations have all options open to you.

Don’t forget about your reception when thinking about music for wedding celebrations. You have a great many options for your reception that you can use to keep everyone happy. There are live music bands that range from rock to classical music that you can hire, or perhaps you just want to have DJ quietly playing some of your favorite songs. You can also have prerecorded tapes or CDs play while you are enjoying the after wedding celebration with family and friends. Do what works best for you.

With the success of the iPod, Apple has just come to control 70% of the MP3 player market. It has cornered the market for digital downloads too – with iTunes. For all its popularity though, iTunes isn’t all pleasant from a user standpoint. It’s unnecessarily large, and what does one do about it the way it comes up with a new 60 MB update about twice a month? The updating process isn’t even as invisible as with the Google Chrome browser, that does all the updating it wants to behind the scenes without ever letting you in on the hassle of it all. The iTunes update is completely hands-on. And how about the laborious process you have to go through to sync it to the computer to get everything caught up? iTunes takes a lot of time just to recognize that anything has been plugged in; and then it can fail from time to time while it’s trying to update the iPod/iPhone. In the age of WiFi, why is it that Apple wants you to plug anything in?

Now this is not how Google feels things should be done. Watch out Apple, Google is on to you! Google’s Android-operated phones like the Nexus One, won’t require you to jump through any of these hoops. To begin with, the Android is completely wireless; you don’t need to plug it into the computer for anything. And now, the Android is going to let you install an app on your desktop that will allow you to upload to the Internet all the music you have on the computer. Once you have your music collection on the cloud, your WiFi-enabled Android phone will just stream your music wherever you have a WiFi connection. The music doesn’t get stored on your phone; it gets streamed, and you never know the difference. There’ll be no more MP3 music downloads for your mobile device; it’ll all be streamed, and it will all be live.

Did you happen to catch the news last year about how Apple acquired the music streaming company Lala? The new iPhone’s coming out, and Apple probably has an eye on the cloud to compete with Google. There are good things to say about this, and there are inconveniences to. To begin with, if you want to store your collection on the cloud, you don’t have to make do with 80GB or anything – you can have as many gigabytes as you want. The bad news in all of this is that you can’t listen to anything without an Internet connection. Certainly, the wireless Internet thing is getting better every day what with 4G and all. But still, how on earth are you to listen to your music when you’re on an underground train line, or if you’re out in the sticks? Of course, the new iTunes and Android will allow you to both sync and store stuff on your phone, alongside letting you stream from the cloud. Even better, Android’s WiFi is going to allow you to sync music wirelessly. You’ll just need to press a button when you get in the house, and it’ll do the rest for you.

Apple’s apps developers have tried to bring that kind of function to the iPhone, only to be rejected by Apple. Whatever that means. What it seems to me now is, that large storage on your phone and syncing everything all the time seems to be on its way out. Pretty soon, everything that could hold music or any other entertainment software will be able to stream from the cloud. This is certainly the next big thing in music players, and it could get very competitive. It could mean an end to iTunes; people want to stream to any device, and Apple will never allow it. It could also mean an end to iPod docks for cars. Manufacturers could just build a WiFi streaming chip into the car entertainment system, and you could have your entire collection right in your car without having to carry around your iPod. You could also have your music collection anywhere in the world that you traveled, if hotel entertainment systems carried such a streaming chip. Record labels that went through so much with the whole MP3 music downloads shift, are going to have all kinds of new regulations to hobble this innovation.

But as they did with MP3 music downloads when they removed DRM, they’ll probably come around to seeing sense in a few years, and then one day soon we will have our music just floating around the ether around us wherever we go. There will be no music storage – the last link to the idea that music and entertainment need some physical storage form to keep with you when you buy them.

When there is a song on the radio that interests you, pretty often you do want to know exactly what the singer says – to sing along with the song don’t you? Lots of people do apparently, and hence the popularity of lyrics sites. For any given song that you look up, you’re guaranteed to find it on at least a half dozen sites with names like azlyrics, elyrics, stlyrics, metrolyrics and so on. Did you ever wonder how these people could publish all these lyrics to hit songs (and get all the annoying advertising on the side as a reward to pay them for their trouble) and not have the songwriters or the record labels sue them for some kind of copyright infringement? Here are these people publishing someone else’s copyrighted creative work and profiting from it. Doesn’t that just cry out for some kind of action from these companies that will sue college students for $100,000 if they catch them sharing peer-to-peer? Actually, that last lyrics website, Metrolyrics, just found out about this the hard way.

Metrolyrics reportedly got its start 10 years ago when a high school student, a boy called Milun, found that he could never find the words for the songs he loved when he looked on the Internet. So he just happened to start his own website as a kind of gag; and he put up the words to lots of songs. Pretty soon, there were so many visitors at his site for his free lyrics that he was beginning to make advertising money. The Website is pretty successful now, with millions of dollars in advertising revenues and more than 10 million visitors each month. All these free lyrics though were written by hard-working musicians elsewhere. Songwriters who often don’t feel that they are compensated enough for their hard work and creativity, are often gratified to see their lyrics in such demand; they just wish they could be up for some kind of a share. All they’ve ever had all these years have been pennies earned off printed lyrics for songs and sheet music.

And so songwriters and the record labels that represent them, have been getting a little pushy with the lyrics sites – to get them in on the action. Not that the lyrics websites are unwilling; it’s just that there is no system in place for lyrics royalty collection the way there is for music royalty collection. There are just so many songwriters and publishers out there; there’s no system that could easily get all of them together in one place to help distribute the pennies around. Help is at hand now though with businesses called license aggregators – examples would be companies like Gracenote; these are prominent in this area. Companies like these go around gathering licenses and permission from the thousands of songwriters and record labels out there, to try to mediate between them and the sites that publish lyrics for songs.

When websites do not play nice with the lyrics licensors, some of them are forced to shut down. There are about a hundred sites that publish lyrics for songs on the Internet; and ever since third-party license aggregators like Gracenote came into the picture, a handful of them have begun to do it legally. The others are beginning to feel a bit of pressure with a few lawsuits mounted against them. Lots of these websites operate outside the US, and of course there’s no way to get on their case there.

You love music and you love to hear it like it was meant to be heard, correct? If so, you should consider a 6 channel amp because when you hear the sound, you will wonder how you settled for less. If you spend a lot of time driving or commuting, this can definitely be a worthwhile investment for you.

You may be wondering how a 6 channel amp could improve the sound so much? Basically, the higher number of channels you have, the higher and clearer the sound because you are hearing more watts. If you listen to your favorite song on a single channel amp and then listen to it on a 6 channel amp, you may not even recognize the song because you will be hearing everything and much of what you never heard before.

Of course, you can add as many amps as you want, but make sure you research your vehicle, time spent in the car, and how much your budget allows. Additionally, the higher price you pay for an audio system, the higher your vehicle becomes a target for theft, so make sure you have a good alarm system installed before you spend 100′s of dollars on stereo equipment.

2009 proved to be a banner year for the music industry, even amid the recession. It seems that when people only have a few bucks in their pockets they would rather spend it on a good bit of music than save it. This is good news for the music industry which has been suffering from rampant worldwide piracy. Very few people actually purchase music anymore it seems and most of the money that artists make now is from live performances. Even that has dried up though since most people can’t afford to go to an expensive rock concert these days. Nonetheless some bands are enjoying great success and 2009 produced a crop of top 10 music hits that have surprised a jaded industry. My list leaves out the really boring stuff like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and concentrates on cutting edge alternative music.

The best album of the year had two or three of the top 10 music hits and that was Kings of Leon with their wonderful CD “Only By The Night”. The brothers Followill, led by lead singer Caleb, churned out such masterpieces as “Use Somebody” and “Sex on Fire” both of which were huge, crossover, international top 10 music hits. Although many think that this band just appeared last year, they have been around for about five years now and have had many great songs and CDs before “Only By The Night”. Check out earlier songs like “California Waiting”, “The Bucket”, “Molly’s Chambers”, and “Holyroller Novocaine” and you will be blown away.

Last year also saw the emergence of other top 10 music hits such as “Lay Me Down” by the Dirty Heads featuring Rome, the lead singer for the super alternative ska group Sublime. Finger Eleven had a couple of massive top 10 music hits including the very popular “Paralyzer” which has had audiences worldwide dancing since it first came out. Three Days Grace came out with the beautiful and powerful “Never Too Late” and Incubus scored once again with their ballad “Love Hurts”, not to be confused with the classic rock hit by the same name.

Famous bands did not fare as well last year with the exception of Green Day and Pearl Jam. Green Day came out with their album “21st Century Breakdown” which featured one of the best top 10 music hits of the year “21 Guns”. Pearl Jam’s great album called “Backspacer” had several hits but none as wonderful as “Breathe”, a lovely and spare ballad.

All in all, 2009 saw many new top 10 music hits that have enhanced all of our listening lives. We hope that 2010 will see more of the same. With a new Keane album due to be released it sounds like this will be another banner year for alternative music.

I think that any guitar player would love to take lessons from Slash or Dave Navarro and now they can with the magic of the internet. Advanced guitar lessons on the internet are not only free but they feature some of the best guitar players in the business. On a recent clip on www.youtube.com, Dave Navarro, former lead guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers joins George Lynch, guitar god from Lynch Mob in showing some advanced guitar lessons for the general public. Navarro has an online show called Spread TV and he has different guests each week from the rock and roll world. With George Lynch they discuss intricate guitar licks and different techniques.

In another episode of Spread TV, also available on www.youtube.com, Dave Mustaine, the great guitar player for Mettalica, shows Dave how to play “spider chords”. Spider chords were invented by Dave Mustaine (or so he claims) and he has used them in bands like Metallica and Megadeath to great effect and to create some of the most memorable licks of all time.

There is a great clip available on youtube featuring the great Neal Schon of Journey fame teaching how to play the great song “Lights”. For advanced guitar lessons this one is great because it shows close ups of his fingering technique on the guitar neck. The bad part is that he does not stop and explain the parts. If you are a very advanced player you will not have much trouble copying his moves, but it would still be helpful to hear some commentary, even if it is just a little. A lot of these guitar guys don’t like to explain their moves and many of the clips are like this.

There are some great Slash (Guns ‘n Roses) clips available on www.youtube.com. One of the best instructional videos is a very short clip where he shows (not teaches) how to play the intro to “Paradise City”, one of Guns ‘n Roses biggest international hits. There are lots more famous guitar players on youtube but you have to search through a lot of junk in order to find them. If you are persistent you will find some gems though, like the guitar player from the Red Hot Chili Peppers who has posted lots of advanced guitar lessons of his own on there.

The very talented guitar player John Mayer shows how to play some great riffs on his video show sponsored by Guitar World, “How to Shred”. There is also a great video on there by the legendary jazz guitarist Larry Carlton, who has recorded with greats such as Steely Dan and many others.

For advanced guitar lessons there are some great DVDs available as well and you can get those online or at your local Guitar Center store or your local music supply store.

How many 80s music fans are there out there? I know that I am and hopefully there are many, many more. Of course, I love any music from the past.

If you grew listening to 80s music, take a few minutes to reminisce by learning some facts that you might not know about these hits.

As a child of the 1980′s, I grew up loving such musical groups and performers as INXS, Robert Palmer and U2, and I still find myself listening to a lot of their songs. That got me to wondering the other day why 80′s music hits are so timeless. It is not just that way for me or people from my generation, either.

One of my favorite 80′s music hits was “Need You Tonight” by INXS. I was just a little kid and remember listening to it over and over again. I thought it had the coolest music of any song that I had ever heard. Even to this day, when I hear it on the radio, I have to listen to it and sing along with all of the lyrics.

Robert Palmer was another great artist of the 1980′s whose song “Addicted to Love” was my brother’s favorite. We would be in our room hanging out, and he would play that song over and over again, and the truth of the matter is that I really didn’t mind. I loved it probably as much as he did.

As an American of Irish ancestry and a music lover as well, one of my favorite rock groups of all time is U2, and the 1980′s was when I was first introduced to them. The group had a lot of 80′s music hits, as that was the decade of the album “The Joshua Tree.” That particular album featured such songs as “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “With or Without You” and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”

I remember playing that cassette so much that it actually wore the tape out completely. I eventually bought it on CD, and I’ll pop it in from time to time just to sort of take me back to my youth.

I also had my first big crush in the 1980′s, and that was on the pop singer Debbie Gibson. When I first laid eyes on her, I fell deeply in love, and still find myself blushing a little when I see pictures of her today.

She had a couple of 80′s music hits, such as “Shake Your Love” and “Only in My Dreams.” I got a tape of hers for my birthday one year, and needless to say, it was my favorite present.

I have often wondered why 80′s music hits are so timeless for me. Perhaps it is because it takes me back to my childhood when I first developed my passion for music, and perhaps it is just that the music of the 1980′s was really that good.

I have a number of younger cousins who are also great music fans, and they love the music of the 1980′s, even though they were not even born yet. I’ll ask them why they like it, and they say that the music is cool, and in many instances, meaningful.

Whatever the reason, 80′s music hits still stand out to me as some of the best music ever produced and I feel fortunate to have come up during that decade in music.

Going to the cinema can feel like a thrilling experience to any person who chooses to participate in the event. What many do not appreciate, however, is that they can bring that exact surrounding back to where they live if they so choose. It is dubbed a home cinema, and when the right moves are taken and planned, the recollections that come from it will be priceless.

Before getting too deep into the venture, consider first what type of site you would like the film area to depict. Will the entire family be using it, or should the room give off an air of maturity for older folk? Must the room appear like an actual cinema, or is a comfortable home idea more apt? These must be kept in mind. Once you know the route you will be going in, it is key to then advance on to the colours. Choosing the inappropriate colour scheme can crush what you are undertaking to accomplish, so be careful. For instance, if you covet Earth hues, then bright pink would not work. A dvd recorder could be a great addition to your home cinema.

Think about the size of the selected place. This should be accepted if you wish to determine how effectively sound will travel, and thus where the audio systems must be positioned and how many. The dimensions the TV is also decided by the amount of space you have. Ask yourself how many items of furnishings must be used. How big or small should the items be? Setting everything together, only to find out that not everything fits or works would be quite a defeat. It would also suggest squandered income, as well. If you are not confident, ask somebody who has already put together a home movie theatre, or confer with a specialist.

Adorn your movie theatre area with objects that will help establish the ambience. This part is possibly the most entertaining, as you can allow your imagination to get creative, letting it pilot you where it will. If you have a favourite video, you may wish to ponder seeking to add things linked with it. If you simply desire it to look like a place to view movies, find posters and put them on the wall. You may also insert characteristics such as a popcorn appliance or choices of drinks.

A home movie theatre is a great way to articulate your interests and provide family time with your family and other loved ones. But bear in mind, never do what you do not deem is right. This is your job, and it should be treated as such. Should you run into any troubles, or consider that some building work is vital to reach your desires, check with a specialist that can grant the proper assistance.

Christmas is my favorite holiday, and the Christmas season is one of my favorite times of the year. I love all of the festivities and decorations, but one of the things I like the most are all of the great Christmas songs.

What I have come to learn over the years is that the top Christmas songs can be religious or secular, and regardless of your religious beliefs or lack thereof, you are probably very familiar with both kinds of song.

The first one that comes to mind when I think about the top Christmas songs is “O’ Holy Night,” which, of course, is made holy by the birth of Jesus Christ. This is the song that I have to hear every Christmas season at least once, or it really doesn’t feel like Christmas at all.

Another song that has to rank among the top Christmas songs is “Jingle Bells,” which of course is secular in nature. I think this more than any other song really illustrates the joyousness of the season, describing the scenery and activities that go on during the Christmas season.

One of the songs that I remember learning during the Christmas season when I was in school was “Frosty the Snowman.” I always loved this song, but I was also a little bit jealous. I grew up in Texas, where we hardly ever get snow, and I was not able to build a snowman each year.

Of all of the top Christmas songs I hear during the holiday season, my absolute favorite is “O Come, O Come Emanuel.” This is a religious song, obviously, and I love the beauty of the lyrics, but I also just like the music itself. It is so haunting to me that it definitely stands out from the rest.

Another of the top Christmas songs that I really like, but some people don’t seem to like at all, is “Jingle Bell Rock.” I know some people who seem to actually have an open disdain for this song, and I really don’t know why. I’ve always thought of it as being kind of fun and catchy.

“White Christmas” is another tune that many people consider to be one of the top Christmas songs and one that you almost always hear around Christmas time, and it is another secular song that can’t help but make you nostalgic for the holiday season.

The Christmas season is the most special time of the year for me, and I love all of the songs that go along with Christmas. Whether they are religious or secular, the top Christmas songs are loved by everyone who celebrates the holiday.

The Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) recorder is a storage system that functions like, and is comparable in several ways, to a VCR. DVD recorders register video on an internal disc within the DVD recorder, which is erasable and writable. They are capable to record from analogue video sources and in numerous instances from digital camcorders. The DVD recorder includes audio visual ports and can be used to register TV performances with the use of the embedded television tuner. The DVD recorder is offered in scores of configurations.

The recorders exist in three major kinds, the standalone DVD recorder, DVD/ Hard Drive unit, and mini-recorders. The standalone DVD recorder is operated in television and may be used to register programs. lots of hold MPEG-4 compression that is utilized for the real time compression of image data. Some enhancements found in some recorders will present time based correctors and noise diminution functions. The mini DVD recorders will be placed in digital camcorders. The DVD/Hard Drive units are employed in computers to write and read computer data and they offer writable and erasable media.

The standalone DVD recorder is not able to write or read information from a computer, but can register video in real time to a DVD disc. In order to connect with a PC, a standalone DVD would have to have drivers installed, and that is not part of the structure of recorders. However, with the use of specialized software for PC video editing, some DVD video files that were formed on the PC, may be sent to some DVD recorders using a firewire interface. This is not a typical process for a DVD recorder, but if it is doable the particulars would be portrayed in the operating manual. Any kind of modern TV, including a lcd tv, can be connected to a DVD recorder.

DVD recorders are very unproblematic appliances to function even though they may have a complicated design. They operate different recording formats, video and audio compression systems, several tuning options and several broadcast norms. These recorders supply good sound reproduction and high-quality image properties. Recordings survive longer than those on magnetic tape, and they do not have to be rewound or fast forwarded, given that they run through random access to the necessary video part.

The recorded videos are simply explored because of the presence of chapter menus. Loss of recording quality as a product of repeated generation loss and regular playbacks is kept to a bare minimum. If you are on the lookout for a DVD recorder, be certain to compare prices, contrast the recording times that are backed the speed of the unit, and the prospect of producing multiple recordings at the same time. Other items to look for are the warranty period, and the image and sound properties.

I am of the opinion that Neil Simon is one of the greatest contemporary playwrights in America, and my favorite Neil Simon play was also made into a terrific movie back in 1988.

Biloxi Blues is the story of Eugene Jerome, a young man from New York who has been drafted into the army during World War II and sent to do his basic training in Biloxi, Mississippi. There, he is enlisted with a group of guys from various places that bring their own unique idiosyncrasies and perspectives into the story to make for an interesting and diverse cast of characters.

He also is introduced to Sgt. Merwin J. Toomey, who is obviously not completely mentally stable, and that makes for some interesting story lines in and of itself.

What I like most about this particular Neil Simon play is that it is semi-autobiographical. Knowing that going into the play makes it that much more engaging, because you know that most of the things that happened to the main character actually happened to Simon himself.

Another thing that I liked about this Neil Simon play is that it addressed a lot of issues that would likely seem taboo for that particular time period. Subjects like race and ethnicity, homosexuality, anti-antisemitism, prostitution and Toomey’s mental illness were all featured in Simon’s play and provided an opportunity to see how those issues were dealt with (or not dealt with) back in the 1940s.

This Neil Simon play was made into the movie of the same name, and it was actually Matthew Broderick who played the role of Jerome in both the stage and film versions. The play made its debut in 1985, while the movie premiered three years later.

I think one of the things that appealed most to be about the play, and the movie, for that matter, was just the idea behind it all: the life of a group of regular guys, who are obviously young and somewhat immature, preparing to embark on the something so grand with no clue as to whether or not they would ever return.

They did have their misgivings at times, but they were still prepared to go and serve their country and give their lives if necessary for the greater cause. We have never had a conflict close to the scale of World War II in my lifetime, and I can’t even imagine what that must have been like.

The Neil Simon play Biloxi Blues is one of my all-time favorite plays. It manages to weave humor into a very serious situation so effectively that it did not detract from the storyline, and it just makes you feel good watching it.

My love of classical music began as young boy and has only grown over the years. I collected tapes and CDs of my favorite composers and orchestras and listened to them on a regular basis growing up.
I went to my first live classical music concert when I was 14 years old, to see a production of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite. It was during the Christmas season, so I was already in a good mood, but when I heard that opening chord and listed to the orchestra play those beautiful notes, I was transfixed, and knew that I was in for the experience of a lifetime.
When the concert was over, we went out to eat and she asked me what I thought. I told her that I had never seen anything like it, and that I wanted to go to as many live performances as possible. She laughed and said that it does have a tendency to get into your blood.
I attended my first opera when I was in my mid-20s. It was Tosca, my favorite opera of all, and it absolutely blew me away. Although I had the recording of the opera with Placido Domingo in the role of Cavaradossi, it was not nearly as breathtaking as seeing it live and hearing those wonderful arias performed right in front of me.

What exactly is blues piano? It is a music style and once you learn to play it on the piano you will stop sweating the learning of other music styles. Keep on reading and by the end of this article, you will know a great deal about blues music and playing it on the piano.

To start with, you must know 12-bar blues. This is a very common progression if you want to do blues piano playing. To play this particular blues form, most pianists make use of seventh chords. A song is broken into 3 sets. Each of the set consists of 4 bars. Start by playing the song on the C key. Use ‘I’ to illustrate the tone (C) in the C key. The IV tone is F and the V tone is G.

The initial set is played as I-I-I-I. The next set is played as IV-IV-I-I. The final set is V-IV-I-I. Use your right hand when playing these three sets on the piano.
