Avenue Q has taken the musical theatre world by storm, by demonstrating that hand-puppets can be viewed as human. The musical has recently been given an additional show schedule in the City, and visitors are very excited in taking advantage of the amazing musical performances in the centre of this active city. Nonetheless, it can be overwhelming when it comes to getting hold of both the best tickets for the show, and an appropriate, and reasonably priced accommodation to stay at. That is why it’s an incredible idea to procure one of the countless available Avenue Q hotel and theatre packages as this will be a great way to minimise both your costs and your frustration level.

London theatre packages offer a lot better value than if you got your hands on show tickets and hotel rooms independently. Companies that provide packages are capable of securing a great number of theatre tickets for every single show at a huge mark-down, and hence can sell amazing offers that can not be bought by Joe public. Theatre packages are based around the belief that a great deal of tourists will stay in the exact same accommodation for the entire length of their stay in London, and for that reason, the hotel will very easily be able to make-up for any loss because of the costs of supplying cheaper rooms for the theatre breaks.

When making enquiries on the availability of Avenue Q hotel and theatre packages, it’s crucial that you plan your stay in the City as soon as possible. While various last minute London theatre packages are available, the best array of shows and range of hotel rooms can be purchased one or two months in advance. Early preparation is particularly important if the chosen performance time is late on Friday or Saturday night, as these performance times are the most likely to be out of stock. Also, weekend rooms are by far the most popular for tourist hotel visits. Attending an Avenue Q play during the middle of the week or during a matinee performance can result in considerably cheaper show ticket prices and also open up more room availability.

It is very important that you consider how you will in reality be reaching your destination upon arrival in the Capital, as a number of Avenue Q theatre show deals can also have generous concessions for transportation, principally for travelling by rail. Additionally, always check with the companies providing the package to identify if there is any price agreement with it, in case another comparable theatre package subsequently becomes available on the market at a substantially cheaper price. Get the best London theatre and hotel packages online.

Avenue Q is altering the image of puppets forever, and acquiring the best Avenue Q London theatre package can certainly help make the musical show a magnificent gift.

Modern Rock or Alternative Rock as we know it now began in the 80s with many bands that were considered one-hit wonders or had very short careers. After the implosion of disco music in the late 1970s, music fans were confused and had no one music style that they could call their own. Straight rock music was in a period of big hair bands that played arenas like AC/DC and Judas Priest. This music did not appeal to many people who wanted more melodic pop and rock as opposed to heavy metal music.

One of the first bands to emerge in the 1980s was Tears for Fears. This pop rock duo became instantly famous for their soaring pop melodies like “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” a song which is still played today all over the world. They followed up this mammoth hit with “Shout” and “Mad World” and then sort of slipped away from the limelight a few years later.

The Pet Shop Boys cashed in on the 80s pop music phenomenon with their huge worldwide hit “East End Boys”. Also in the same mode was Modern English with “Melt With You”, a really dancy number that is played all over the world to this day. The Simple Minds dominated 80s pop music with their gigantic hit “Don’t You Forget About Me”.

Most music experts agree that Modern Rock or Alternative Rock as we know it today began with bands like Frankie Goes to Hollywood and their catchy dance hit “Relax” or Level 42 (another one hit wonder) with “Something About You”. The Fixx had many great songs during the 80s and started it with “Stand of Fall” and “Red Skies at Night”. Wang Chung gave us “Everybody Wang Chung Tonight” and “To Live and Die in L.A.” while Duran Duran rocked arenas around the world with hits like “Save a Prayer” and “Rio”.

The late 80s pop music scene brought us Squeeze and their big hit “Tempted” as well as U2, who kept rocking with “With or Without You”, “Pride (In the Name of Love)” and many other huge hits. Prince continued rocking with “Raspberry Beret” while the Human League brought us “Don’t You Want Me (Baby)”. Another one hit wonder, Til Tuesday came out with the moody “Voices Carry”, a favorite of Modern Rock FM radio.

One of the best real bands to emerge from 80s pop music was Midnight Oil. These Aussies carried through into the early 90s with their big hit “Beds are Burning” and later “Blue Sky Mining”, among others. Another critically acclaimed singer/songwriter of 80s pop music (and rock) was Peter Gabriel of Journey fame with his hit “In Your Eyes”.

All in all, 80s pop music was fantastic for people who really loved original, melodic songs and spawned a whole new generation of musicians and a style of music that we continue to listen to until this very day. In fact, today’s Alternative Rock musicians owe their musical lives to the pop and rock bands of the 80s who were not afraid to be different and independent.

This article is about British rock bands

The history of british rock bands really begins with the Beatles. The group’s first incarnation was in 1957, when then sixteen year old John Lennon and some schoolboy pals decided to form a band. A month later Lennon met then fifteen year old Paul McCartney and invited him to join. Several months after that, McCartney invited fourteen year old George Harrison to join, and the genesis of the Beatles was complete.

They ended up writing songs and playing gigs under several different names, including some pretty awful ones like “John and the Moondogs.” Eventually Lennon’s schoolboy friends decided to leave the band for school, and Lennon, McCartney and Harrison were left as a trio who would play gigs whenever they could find a drummer.

Cree LED Flashlights Rock

I was rocking out listening to the radio the other day when I heard a DIY home radio show. The host talked about this really cool flashlight that uses Cree LED bulbs. I bought a Blackfire flashlight the other day after watching the totally awesome animation of the flashlight. The Blackfire website discusses a little about the Cree LED flashlight technology. I had no idea that Cree LED bulbs can last up to 100,000 hours of use. Can you imagine how many years you would be able to use your flashlight before needing to change the bulb? I don’t think I will ever need to change my Cree LED flashlight bulbs. Well, it’s time to get back to rockin and rolling. Where’s my Lady Gaga CD?
